I joined the company last December, almost six months ago. As a student of HR management, I’m glad to have the opportunity to develop my career in this field at UPM. Since it’s my first corporate job, I wanted to experience the HR industry from the inside and make sure it is the right career choice for me. Thanks to UPM I now know I’m on the right path.
My job includes signing employment contracts, preparing training sessions, notifying employees of law or regulation changes and informing them about available employee benefits. I feel comfortable both in my job and in the work environment. At UPM you can always count on your team’s support, friendly atmosphere and kindness. I had no idea what the expect from a job in such a big company but I’m glad to say my first corporate experience is a very positive one!
When it comes to development opportunities, UPM offers clear career paths. We are aware of the promotion criteria and competencies you need to have to move up. Throughout the entire promotion process we can count on our manager’s support. What’s more, there is also a great opportunity to move to a different team within our centre to see what it’s like to work in other departments and get to know other team members.
What I like about working at UPM is that you can not only develop your professional skills during a range of available training courses but also boost your creativity e.g. by taking part in craft workshops. Apart from that, we often get involved in charity initiatives and planet-friendly activities, such as tree planting in a nearby forest, because caring for the environment is our priority. It is a great opportunity to try your hand at new things while doing some good for our communities and our planet.
