UPM ProFi® - Turning waste into high quality raw material

UPM Biofore

UPM ProFi composite is a unique, award-winning material that combines the best characteristics of cellulose fibres and plastic. Manufactured mainly from recycled raw material, UPM ProFi has proven to be a tough, humidity resistant and low maintenance material.

The main ingredients for UPM ProFi are recycled paper and plastic that are manufacturing by-products from UPM's self-adhesive labelstock production. The proportion of the recycled material in UPM ProFi products is always more than 50 per cent. In UPM ProFi former waste turns into a high quality raw material! After their lifecycle the products can be disposed of through incineration or recycled back into the production process.

By giving a second life to recycled material, UPM ProFi is a great case of an environmental innovation resulting in products that have better technical performance. UPM ProFi is suitable for terraces, patios, exterior cladding and various outdoor applications. Unlike other composites or wood UPM ProFi keeps its colours without turning grey in the sunlight. It has a unique stain resistant surface that does not absorb spills such as barbeque oil. UPM ProFi products keep their looks and colours year after year with minimum maintenance.

UPM ProFi is based on UPM's own research and business development work. It's an example of UPM's Biofore thinking turned into a great environmental solution.
